Would you rather use a regular corkscrew or a needle wine opener?

I know you probably have wine openers at home, but have you ever tried using a needle wine opener? Having a glass (or three) of wine is one of my favorite ways to unwind at the end of a long day. It should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with the themes of this blog that I have a couple of tricks to getting a wine bottle open quickly and efficiently! In this video, I show you my tricks for getting the foil off the bottle and the cork popped with just the push of a button.

Where did I find this great tool?

I have my friends Jen and Greg to thank for that! I first met Jen and Greg at the gym where I work out. We are all part of a local wine club, and when we aren’t locked inside because of a pandemic, we make a monthly trip to the winery for a tasting.

Well, a few years ago, Jen and Greg invited me over for their annual Christmas party. They have a beautiful home that is made for entertaining. In the foyer, there is a great bar area that holds a portion of their impressive wine collection. During the party, we were in this bar area getting drinks and chatting. 

I had arrived to the party with a date, and while I was lost in conversation with someone else, he happened to notice the needle wine opener that was being used. Seeing how nice it was, and knowing how much I enjoy wine, my date made a mental note to buy one for me as a Christmas present. He was unable to hold in his excitement, however, so he ended up pointing out how cool the wine opener was during the party. I fell in love with it! So later, I bought one for myself. It wasn’t until I told him about it coming in the mail that he told me the Christmas surprise was ruined!
